Oil & Gas Instrument Calibration

In fuel handling, measurement is the transaction. Meters at loading racks and terminal gates decide what is invoiced, tank instrumentation decides what inventory is believed to exist, and pressure instruments protect equipment holding hazardous product. All three demand documented, traceable calibration — and most of them cannot be taken out of service casually.

Custody transfer and loading meters

Where product changes ownership, the meter error transfers value in one direction with every batch. Documented error percentage is what makes an invoice defensible.

Tank inventory and reconciliation

Level, temperature and density combine into a stock figure. An error in any of them shows up as an unexplained inventory difference.

Line balance across the terminal

Receipts against deliveries; when they disagree, calibration decides which meter is at fault instead of leaving it to argument.

Safety-critical pressure points

Instruments feeding alarms, trips and interlocks on hazardous service, where an undetected drift is a protective function that will not act.

Temperature compensation

Volume corrected to reference temperature is only as good as the temperature measurement behind the correction.
